Trudy’s Nest now equipped for song

A haven for the elderly received a piano donation.

Trudy’s Nest has received one of their biggest donations yet.

The haven for elderly in Toekomsrus recently received a piano from Tetelesthai Church based in Witpoortjie, Roodepoort.

The piano will be played by the organisation’s official musician, Suzie de Jaer. Suzie already leads them in song with her guitar during their weekly socials and what makes her unique is the fact that she is blind.

Along with the piano, the organisation also received cans of soup from Denny’s Mushrooms and will receive soup once a month, every month from the mushroom giant. The soup cans go towards those elderly members who barely get by on a daily basis.

Although everything is looking up for the organisation in terms of support and donations, they are still looking for a second-hand vehicle to transport their elderly to and from their base as well as take them out on camps.

They are also looking for a permanent spot they can call their own as the place they currently have their base is prone to theft and they have no vehicle to transport the equipment they need to and from the location.

Trudy is pleading with the community to contact them should they wish to partner with them to better the lives of Toekomsrus’ elderly.

She can be contacted on 071 388 4159.
