EPR Security has released its most recent crime report, which states that the police were fired on in Mohlakeng.
The report describes the incident as an attempted murder. It took place on the main road, Ralerata Street, where shots were allegedly fired at the police.
Over the past two days, the number of break-ins has decreased, but not the number of thefts. Three thefts were reported in the 48 hours from Monday, 17 October to Tuesday, 18 October in the Rand West City Local Municipal area.

• Damage to property – Fedler Street, Aureus
• Civil case reported – School Street, Randfontein Central
• Theft out of vehicle – Vogelstruisfontein Agricultural Holdings (AH)
Tuesday, 18 October
Randfontein incidents:
• Theft – Main Reef Road, Central Business District (CBD)
• Open premises – Main Reef Road, CBD
• Damage to property – Steyet Street, Aureus
• Break-in – Elandsvlei AH
• Attempted murder – Ralerata Street, Mohlakeng (shots fired at police)
Westonaria incidents:
• Theft – Normand Street, Westonaria
