Two injured in farm attack

Two alleged farm attackers shot and injured this morning have been transported to a hospital on the West Rand.

Two alleged farm attackers were shot and injured near Potchefstroom and had to be transported to Leratong Hospital in Krugersdorp on the West Rand early this morning (Tuesday, 18 October).

Russel Meiring, the ER24 spokesperson, said the incident took place on a farm on the D1365 just off the N12, roughly 15km outside of Potchefstroom, and that a total of six alleged farm attackers are believed to have been involved.

“ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found local authorities already in attendance. On assessment, paramedics found two men lying outside the farm house. Assessments showed that both men had sustained gunshot wounds to their lower legs.

“Paramedics treated the patients for their injuries and thereafter transported them to Leratong Hospital for further treatment. It is believed the men entered the residence. The occupants immediately called the local authorities and nearby farm residences for aid.”

The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities will be investigating further.
