Man critically injured in truck-vehicle crash

At 6am on Monday, 3 October a truck and vehicle collided near the R28 intersection, leaving one person in a critical condition.

According to Athlenda Mathe, spokesperson for Netcare 911, reports from the scene indicated that the man, who was the driver of the light motor vehicle, sustained serious injuries.

“When paramedics assessed the man, it was found that he was in a critical condition. He was stabilised on scene, after which he was airlifted to a level-one trauma facility in Johannesburg by Netcare helicopter for further medical care,” said Mathe.

The driver of the truck sustained no injuries.
