Grade 7 pupil receives over R1 million bursary

Pupil, 13, from Westonaria gets the opportunity of a lifetime with R1,4 million bursary.

One of Westonaria Primary’s Grade 7 pupils received the opportunity of a lifetime after being selected for a bursary at Kingswood College, a private school in Grahamstown, Port Elizabeth.

Ororiseng Cekwane, 13, is one of four lucky pupils in Westonaria and surrounding areas that has been selected for this bursary which is made possible by the South Deep Education Trust (SDET) which is worth almost R 1,4 million.

After numerous intense interviews and assessments by the SDET, she was short listed for the final round of the South Deep Education Trust Grade seven excellence awards held last Thursday, (22 September). She was notified the following day that she has been selected.

This bursary will allow her to start grade 8 next year at Kingswood College.

Ororiseng will be flying to Port Elizabeth during October 2016 where she will be given the opportunity to visit and explore her future high school.

“Westonaria Primary is proud of Ororiseng and we wish her all the best for her future,” said Billy Hutton, Westonaria Primary principal.
