Mayor strikes again - 26 pairs of brand new school shoes given to pupils who need it most.

Setholela Primary School recently had a visit from Mzi Khumalo, Rand West City Executive Mayor, accompanied by the owner of Rand West Brake & Clutch.

Lasie Daniels, the school’s principal approached Shani Sihlangu, Rand West Brake & Clutch owner recently for help in the form of school shoes.

Shani gladly answered the plea for help and collaborated with Mzi for assistance with the project. On Thursday, 15 September they delivered 26 pairs of brand-new shoes to the pupils who need it most.

“We want to encourage people to respond to the needs of the community. I believe we can cultivate a habit of giving among all businesses and individuals,” Shani said.

The pupils of Setholela Primary School were pleased to be receiving such a long-lasting gift from a business.

“Education is important and it is crucial to give pupils a safe environment. We are producing the future of our country, we need to nurture them. We need to acknowledge the poverty level in our community. Let’s join hands and contribute to our children,” Mzi said.

Lasie thanks Shani and Mzi for their support regarding this matter. She said she’s pleased to see a difference made in these pupils’ lives as they come from disadvantaged backgrounds.

“I feel humbled and I do hope other businesses will follow in their footsteps,” Lasie concluded.
