Protest on R28 – motorists to use alternative route

The Randfontein Police have issued a warning to motorists travelling on the R28 between Randfontein and Westonaria.

Captain Appel Ernst, Randfontein Police spokesperson requests motorists to use alternative routes as the R28 is barricaded due to a service delivery dispute. Ernst said the R559 and N12 are safer roads motorists can take.

Progress regarding this issue will be communicated,” she said.

Drivers have already taken to social media to warn their fellow motorists of the danger on the R28 and some posts have reported violence on the road as well has major traffic delays.
