Two attempted murders in one day

Two more attempted murders reported to add to rising crime statistics.

The annual attempted murder figures for both Randfontein and Westonaria have risen to 91,7 per cent and 64,7 per cent respectively since last year, and it seems the percentage is ever-increasing.

According to an EPR Security crime report, two attempted murder incidents occurred in Rand West City on Tuesday, 6 September, one each in Randfontein and Westonaria.

The Randfontein attempted murder took place in Randfontein South Agricultural Holdings (AH) at about 8.39pm. In Westonaria, a man was shot in the chest on Chisholme Street in the Westonaria Central Business District (CBD). It is alleged that three suspects entered a home on the street and the dog began barking at them. One of the suspects later fired three shots at the owner, wounding him, before fleeing the scene. The owner was later taken to hospital.
