Another dead, two injured after vehicle rolls

'Paramedics climbed into the vehicle and found that the man had already succumbed to his multiple injuries.'

A man was killed and two others injured in yet another vehicle roll-over incident – the second reported in just one week – on the R501 just 8km outside of Carletonville.

According to Russel Meiring, ER24 spokesperson, the incident occurred on Saturday. A man aged 30 died while trapped in his vehicle after it collided with a truck.

Meiring said ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at about 6.20am and found a light motor vehicle lying on its roof on the side of the road, some distance away.

The paramedics discovered the body of a man lying trapped inside the light motor vehicle. On climbing into the vehicle, they found that the man had already succumbed to his multiple injuries.

“Unfortunately, nothing more could be done for the patient and he was declared dead on scene.

Two other men, both in their 30s were found on scene with only minor injuries. It is believed both men were thrown out of the vehicle when it rolled.”

Paramedics treated the patients and thereafter transported them to The Fountain Hospital for further treatment.

The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
