The Bekkersdal Police are searching for vehicle thieves after a car disappeared while its owner was asleep in Simunye.
Sergeant Linkie Lefakane, Bekkersdal Police spokesperson, said the car was stolen at about 8.40pm last Monday (25 July).
She said the vehicle was a Mazda 323. The owner allegedly parked the vehicle on his premises at approximately 8.40pm, and the next morning, it was gone.
“The suspects are still at large and we are therefore appealing to anyone who might have information about who could be stealing vehicles in the area to inform the Bekkersdal Police,” Lefakane said.
Police urge residents to park their vehicles in lockable places, and to fit them with tracking devices. They further urge residents to report suspicious people in their area.
The Bekkersdal Police can be reached on 011 755 0000/04/06.
