Two young men victims of mysterious stabbing

'The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are not yet known'

Two young men recently sustained multiple injuries after being assaulted with a knife-wielding person while they were walking home.

According to Werner Vermaak, ER24 spokesperson, the incident took place on 17 July on Talc Street, Carletonville. Vermaak said ER24 paramedics were dispatched to the scene and found two men believed to be in their early twenties with stab wounds.

He said one of the men had serious lacerations to his face and arms. “He was bleeding profusely and paramedics had to stabilise him and stop the bleeding before he could be transported to hospital.”

The second man sustained less serious injuries, although he had multiple lacerations on his arms. He was later transported to hospital by another emergency service.

Both men were transported to the Carletonville Hospital for further medical care.

“The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are not yet known,” Vermaak said.
