Policemen celebrate belated Fathers’ Day

Policemen from the West Rand Cluster celebrated being fathers in style recently.

The recent Men for Change event was hosted by Glenburn Lodge, Muldersdrift, specifically to celebrate a belated Fathers’ Day. The main message motivating the men at this event was ‘Be the change you want to see’.

Mpho Nawa, the Executive Mayor of the West Rand, and Thabo Manyoni, Mangaung’s Executive Mayor attended the celebratory event, where several motivational speakers made their appearance.

Motivational speeches on a number of subjects were delivered. Among them was the fact that children learn from what a father does, not what he says. Some speakers encouraged men to participate in anything that is aimed at bringing about positive change in their communities. The audience was also informed about the Cluster’s Men for Change initiatives.

And Major General Anna Mateisi, West Rand Cluster commander and SAPS National Women’s Network deputy chairperson, encouraged men to be involved in their children’s lives.

After the speeches, the audience was treated to a delicious lunch. They congratulated Glenburn Lodge and its General Manager Nigel Pearl on a well-organised function and the excellent food.
