Suspect arrested for allegedly stealing paint

The suspect allegedly confessed to the crime after being arrested.

EPR Security recently arrested a suspect for allegedly stealing cans of paint.

The incident took place on Sunday, 10 July in Briggs Street, Westonaria. According to an EPR crime report, the suspect was walking down Briggs Street carrying cans of paint.

Willem Bruwer, an EPR reaction officer on patrol approached the suspect, but he dropped the paint cans and tried to flee when he saw Bruwer. Bruwer later arrested the suspect, who then allegedly confessed to the crime on scene.

The paint was allegedly stolen from premises in Allan Street.

The suspect has since been handed over to the Westonaria Police for further investigation.

This makes for Bruwer’s second arrest in two days. On 9 July, he arrested a suspect for allegedly trying to steal a dog from the Westonaria SPCA’s safe kennels.
