Woman robbed at gunpoint at workplace

Police urge the community to assist in the robbery case.

A female funeral parlour employee has been robbed at gunpoint in broad daylight by three suspects.

According to Captain Appel Ernst, spokesperson for the Randfontein Police, the incident took place on Saturday, 9 July at approximately 10am at the Sisonke Funeral Parlour.

The female employee was allegedly approached by a man enquiring about a funeral policy. He was allegedly joined by two other suspects, one armed with a pistol.

“The victim was held at gunpoint and robbed of money, a phone and her watch. The suspects then fled on foot,” Ernst said.

Fortunately the woman sustained no injuries during the robbery and no shots were fired.

The Randfontein Police detectives appeal to the community to assist in tracing or identifying the suspects.
