Suspect arrested after attempting to steal dog

The suspect allegedly tried to steal a dog from the SPCA.

EPR Security caught a suspect shortly after allegedly trying to steal a dog from the Westonaria SPCA kennels.

According to an EPR crime report, the incident took place on Saturday, 9 July at approximately 12:53pm.

EPR received a panic signal from the Westonaria SPCA and when EPR reaction officers arrived on scene they were told a suspect was trying to steal a dog out of the SPCA safe kennels and later scaled the SPCA wall.

With only a description of the clothing the suspect was wearing, Willem Bruwer, EPR reaction officer traced the suspect in a nearby veld and arrested him.

The suspect has since been handed over to the Westonaria Police for further investigations.
