‘Dead man’ found alive

The man was found and was arrested for fraud.

A man, 31, believed to have burned to death in an accident late last year has been found and arrested by police.

According to Captain Appel Ernst, spokesperson for the Randfontein Police, investigators from the Randfontein and Krugersdorp Police arrested the man on Sunday, 26 June on fraud charges.

The suspect allegedly went to the Free State on 16 December and was involved in an accident where he was believed to have been burned to death.

As a result of the 2015 accident, a murder case involving the ‘death’ of the suspect is being investigated in the Free State.

The Krugersdorp Police is investigating a fraud case, and the suspect has already made a brief appearances in the Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court.

“The suspect will remain in police custody, Ernst said.
