Alleged elderly woman crashes into a wall

It is unclear what the extent of the elderly woman's injuries were.

Union Street, Randgate has been home to many happenings over the last two weeks and most recently, an alleged elderly woman crashed into Randgate Spar’s wall.

The crash took place yesterday afternoon, just a week after an elderly man tragically died after collapsing in the street and another breaking a leg after being grazed by a car in the same time frame.

The alleged elderly woman crashed her Mercedes C280 into Spar’s wall after which she was taken to hospital to treat her injuries. It is unclear what the extent of her injuries were.

Robert Farinha, owner of Randgate Spar said they were inside the business when the incident took place.

We heard the loudest bang and when we got outside we saw the vehicle smashed into the wall,” He said.

Both the driver’s and the passenger’s airbags deployed and the front of the vehicle had significant damaged. The cause of the crash is not yet known.
