Petrol price: brace yourself

Motorists will once again be hit with a fuel price hike.

Motorists are in for another tough time at the pumps this month.

The Department of Energy has announced increased petrol prices, effective from Wednesday, 6 July.

93 and 95 octane petrol will go up by 11 cents per litre, diesel will increase by 42 cents per litre and paraffin will go up by 43 cents. Additionally, Liquid Petrolium Gas (LPG) will go up by 12 cents per kilogram.

Since the beginning of the year, motorists have been hit from all sides by fuel increases. In June, the fuel price increased by 52 cents per litre for all grades of petrol, while diesel went up by 76 cents per litre.
