R’fontein’s wonder woman at it again

Janine Ferreira can't help but to give to charity.

Randfontein’s wonder woman, Janine Ferreira, has once again proved she cannot stay away from charity or a beauty pageant.

Janine is a former Mrs South Africa semi-finalist and has her sights set on another crown – Mrs Johannesburg.

Mrs Johannesburg is a philanthropic pageant. It is used as a charity fundraiser for the RoleModels Foundation which intervenes in impoverished communities throughout South Africa targeting three specific groups; children, abused women and senior citizens.

Mrs Johannesburg contestants will be embarking on three projects under the RoleModels Foundation blanket; the Imfundo Educare and Skills Development Project, the Asante-Neo-Life Project and the Tamakhulu Project.

The RoleModels Foundation was started six years ago and was born out of a concern for children, specifically those who are born into the circle of poverty. The foundations’s mandate is to intervene in impoverished communities in order to create self-sustainability through education. Their aim is to treat the cause and not the symptoms of poverty.

The foundation has already established three Imfundo Educare Facilities all over South Africa and are planning to build more.

Janine encourages Randfontein and Westonaria residents to support the charity. She explained that it is particularly beneficial for businesses to support as the foundation has PBO status and is VAT registered which means donations are tax deductible. The foundation also meets BEE requirements and is beneficial to a businesses Corporate Social Investment (CSI), status and scoring.

How to get involved:

• Enter or support a pageant hosted by the RoleModels Foundation

• Make a monthly contribution

• Donate non-perishable foods

• Source fresh produce and foods

• Donate second hand clothing, shoes, toys and books

• Donate stationary

• Source or donate building supplies

• Most importantly, give your time by volunteering at an Imfundo Educare facility
