Out-of-this-world concert coming to town

'We make the kind of music that will provoke you to explore the deepest and darkest places of your anatomy!'

Randfontein will be the stage for yet another local band’s take-off into stardom.

Neo Galaxy is a three-piece rock band that will be hosting a concert on Saturday, 9 July at the Motion Church, in Greenhills. Thane Maseko appears on vocals and guitar, Sphelele Zulu plays lead guitar and Dumisani Tshabalala rocks the drums. The band will be bringing local even closer to home in an effort to raise funds for their trip to Oppikoppi in August, after their recent performance at the GoodLuck Bar unexpectedly turned into a successful audition for a spot at Oppikoppi.

Neo Galaxy has made name for itself in numerous competitions such as the My Band Project in 2014 and the Battle 4 Rumours in 2015, where they played in the finals.

“We’ve been expanding our network in the music circuit, putting on stunning performances that leave the crowd astounded and begging for more,” Siphelele said. “Our greatest highlights thus far have been opening for Zebra and Giraffe last year, and getting an opportunity to record a few tunes with their drummer Michael Wright.”

Neo Galaxy’s aim is simple; interact with the community to support local music. “We can only grow bigger and stronger,” Siphelele said.

They are currently recording their first album which is scheduled to be released as soon as possible.
