Beauty products can be heavy on one's budget.

Winter is here and will be for a few months which can spell disaster for one’s skin.

Beauty products can be heavy on one’s budget but there are a few natural remedies for dry skin perfect for the cold winter days ahead.

Honey and olive oil

Honey and olive oil are said to prevent or slow cell damage. Mix two teaspoons of honey with a few drops of olive oil. Rub onto your body before taking a bath, wait a few minutes and wash off.

Olive oil and brown sugar

Mix a few drops of olive oil with one teaspoon of brown sugar. Rub the paste on dry skin. Leave for a few minutes and wash off. This is said to reduce wrinkles and increase blood flow to the surface of the skin.

Milk, rose water and lemon juice

Mix a few drops of rose water and lemon juice into four tablespoons of milk. Apply to the body, leave for a few minutes and wash off with cold water. Milk is believed to prevent premature aging, soften skin and remove dead skin.

Avocado and honey

Add four tablespoons of avocado oil to one cup of honey. Apply to skin before taking a bath and later wash off. The mixture is said to increase collagen production, reduce the risk of skin cancer, and regenerate skin cells.
