Man, 36, found dead near bicycle

'It is suspected the victim was suffering from TB.'

Local police are investigating the exact cause of death after a 36-year-old man was found dead in the road near his bicycle on the R59 in Carletonville.

According to Netcare 911 spokesperson, Athlenda Mathe, the incident took place on Wednesday afternoon.

“Netcare 911 paramedics were alerted to the scene by a motorist who was driving on the R59. When they arrived on scene, we found the man’s bicycle next to the road, five metres from the bicycle we found the man lying on his back.

After assessing him, paramedics found that the man had died.

“The man was declared dead on scene.”

According to a reliable source, the victim was suffering from TB.
