Murder suspects to apply for bail

The suspects will formally apply for bail in court tomorrow.

The Krugersdorp Magistrates’ Court is expected to be packed to capacity again as the two suspects involved in the murder of Anthony Scholefield, Kevin McAlpine and Hanle Lategan will apply for bail tomorrow morning.

This follows after the two males, aged 29 and 32, were arrested last weekend for the murders committed in May.

The duo faces 10 charges each which includes murder, robbery with aggravating circumstance, theft and kidnapping.

Rumours making the rounds suggests more suspects have been called in for questioning during this past week and weekend.

However the West Rand Cluster Police spokesperson, Captain Appel Ernst confirmed that no new arrests have been made.

The News also inquired about the reports of an alleged necklace found in one of the suspect’s possession, which was also denied.

Both suspects will appear in court for a formal bail application hearing, but residents and readers have made it clear on social media that no bail should be granted.
