Two alleged hijackings on one night

A woman stopped her car, and four young suspects attempted to open its doors.

An alleged attempted hijacking committed by the most unlikely suspects took place in Greenhills on 9 June.

One of the suspects involved in the alleged attempted hijacking is believed to be a school pupil.

It is said that the incident took place at a stop street in Greenhills just off Northway Road, where a woman stopped her car, and four young suspects attempted to open its doors.

A member of the Randfontein Sector 4 Community Policing Forum (CPF) gave chase and eventually caught one of the suspects at the Robinson Private Hospital.

The Randfontein police have yet to confirm the incident.

In another incident in Randfontein during the night of 9 June, two helicopters were spotted above the Randfontein taxi rank, allegedly searching for a hijacked vehicle. This incident is not related to the attempted hijacking in Greenhills.
