CPF chair one of 35 ANC councillors

ANC West Rand releases their ward councillors for the upcoming municipal elections.

The ANC West Rand have released the names of their ward councillor candidates for the upcoming municipal elections.

“The African National Congress (ANC) West Rand wishes to congratulate and heartily welcome all our new ward councillor candidates across the West Rand who will represent the people’s organisation as we embark on the upcoming local government elections,” said Mzi Khumalo, ANC Regional Communications Head.

Khumalo explained the ANC have nominated seasoned officials who are influential in their communities and are already recognised as leaders in their own stead.

The candidates, he said, also represent people across the spectrum in terms of gender, age and disability.

The ANC West Rand would also like to thank all branch executive, screening, selection committees as well as branch members and the communities of various wards for their assistance with the selection process.

The candidates are 35 in total of which 16 are women and 19 are men. One of the male candidates is also a youth candidate.

Once the election has been done and process around it have been finalised, Randfontein and Westonaria will be known as the Rand West City Local Municipality. The ANC are working towards a decisive victory on 3 August.
