Main reef crash: One dead, seven injured

Netcare 911: Two people are in a critical condition.

A woman was killed and seven other people were injured during a mutli-vehicle crash on Main Reef Road in the Randfontein CBD on Monday night.

It’s said the accident took place at about 7.40pm.

Athlenda Mathe, Netcare 911 spokesperson said the woman that died is believed to be in her 30s.

Reports from the scene indicate that a Toyota Corolla collided with a Tata Indica. According to paramedics, two people are in a critical condition while five others sustained injuries varying from moderate to minor.

Mathe says,

Netcare 911 paramedics worked alongside various emergency services on scene to stabilise the injured before transporting them to various hospitals in the area for further medical care.

“The woman who was a passenger in the Toyota Corolla was declared dead on scene. Police are investigating the cause of the accident.”
