Randfontein Police have launched an investigation after the body of a man was discovered next to the railway line in the CBD on Sunday, 15 May.

According to Captain Appel Ernst, the body was found at about 9.15am.

“The Randfontein Police are urgently requesting information regarding the death of a male who was found near the railway line at the Railway Station in the Randfontein CBD.

The man had facial injuries.”

Ernst says further that the man was declared dead by Emergency Service personnel and transported to a government mortuary. It is unclear what caused his death, since his facial injuries were superficial.
