Suspect caught red-handed stripping car

The suspect could not give a reasonable explanation for why he had the car or why it was being stripped.

A 32-year-old man was arrested by the Bekkersdal Police for being in possession of a stolen vehicle.

According to Seargent Linkie Lefakane, Bekkersdal Police spokesperson, Detective Constable Hendrick Moiloa got information about a suspected stolen vehicle at the Water Works near Westonaria and like a true detective he followed up on the information with a fellow officer, Constable Dzunani Mashele.

When they arrived on scene, they found the suspect stripping the vehicle. The suspect could not give any reasonable explanation for being in possession of the vehicle and why it was being stripped.

The suspect was arrested and will be charged with being in possession of a stolen vehicle.

He is to appear in the Westonaria Magistrates’ Court soon, Lefakane said.
