Robbery Rampage in Culemborg Park

We urge the community to please report dog-poisoning to the police – Ernst

On 24 and 25 May, the Herald received several reports about houses that had been targeted and broken into in the Culemborg Park area.

According to a source, a house-breaking took place in Condor Avenue on Tuesday, 24 May. Shortly after that, a gate was broken open in Constantia Road where a break-in was attempted and a white Ford was spotted. Then another house-breaking took place in Horingbek Street, where a white vehicle with no registration was spotted.

On the same day, dogs were poisoned in Horingbek Street and a resident reported that his gate was tampered with in Franschhoek Street. Then another break-in occurred in Aasvoêl Street, where a white vehicle was once again mentioned.

Today another break-in took place in Constantia Road, right next to the house targeted yesterday. The community has been warned by members of the Community Policing Forum (CPF) about the high crime activity in Van der Stel Street, Horingbek Street, and Constantia Road.

Captain Appel Ernst, Randfontein Police spokesperson confirmed today that break-ins had occurred in the area but no poisoned dogs were reported.

We urge the community to please report dog-poisoning to the police. This helps with tour crime prevention operations.”

Ernst added that the theft of gate motors is once again on the increase. Any information leading to the arrest of these criminals would be appreciated.
