Car crash leaves six dead, including baby

Eyewitness: One vehicle made a U-turn in front of another.

Six people, including a two-month-old infant, tragically lost their lives in a car crash on the N14 recently.

“The two-car crash took place at about 7.30pm on Sunday, 8 May,” said Captain Appel Ernst, Randfontein Police spokesperson.

An alleged eyewitness from one of the cars involved in the crash says a silver Audi was travelling in the direction of Krugersdorp on the N14 when a blue Toyota Yaris made a U-turn in front of the Audi.

All four of the occupants of the Yaris died as a result of the impact. Two people in the Audi, a man aged 26, and baby, were also killed.

“Three people travelling in the Audi survived; an adult male, an adult female and a boy of approximately 7 years of age. They were taken to a nearby hospital and remain in a serious condition,” Ernst said.
