Young man arrested for driving stolen vehicle

Police: The vehicle was stolen in Germiston.

A 25-year-old man is behind bars and is yet to appear in court after Westonaria Police say officers caught him with a stolen vehicle.

Captain Siphiwe Ndlovu, Westonaria Police spokesperson, confirmed the incident took place at about 4.45pm on Tuesday, 10 May.

“Members of the Westonaria Police responded to a complaint about a suspicious vehicle at a business area. Upon arrival, police members spotted a vehicle which fitted the description of the reported suspicious vehicle.

The police officers ordered the driver to stop.

“During this investigation it came to light the vehicle had been stolen in Germiston. The suspect was then arrested and will appear in court soon,” said Ndlovu.
