Pensioners invited to major event

U3A also promotes improvement in the quality of life for its members.

Randfontein pensioners are invited to the West Rand U3A Inaugural meeting to be held on Tuesday, 10 May.

U3A West Rand – a learning co-operative for the elderly – is a non-profit association of mature persons in partial or complete retirement.

U3A’s objectives are to provide intellectually stimulating programmes of learning and social contacts arising there from. They also deliver these programmes through a voluntary, self-help community in which all members enjoy equal status. U3A also promotes improvement in the quality of life for its members.

Two of the founders, Janet van der Merwe and Griet Wessels, hails from Randfontein. On the day, Rod Kruger will give an interesting talk on the history of the West Rand. All retirees is welcome to come and meet new friends over a cup of coffee or tea and be entertained and stimulated.

The time is 9.30am for 10am at the Ruimsig Retirement Village in Flora Haase Street, Amarosa (Behind Palm Nursery).
