Family of five killed in car crash

Mother and grandmother left devastated with the tragic news.

Nesta Vangile Nkosi, 80, a mother and grandmother from Mohlakeng has been left devastated after she lost five family members in a recent car accident.

The accident took place in Perdekop Street, just before Standerton on Saturday, 16 April.

The cause of the accident allegedly was caused by a drag racer. All five occupants died at the scene.

Those killed in the crash have been identified as Sarah Nkosi, 61, (Nkosi’s first born) Nicholas Nkosi, 55, (Nkosi’s third born) Thobile Nkosi, 23, (Nkosi’s granddaughter), Catrine Nkosi, 53, (Nkosi’s daugter in law) and Phumzile Nkosi, 59.

For Nkosi this comes as a great shock as her son, Aaron Majahodwa, brutally was killed in 2010 in Mohlakeng. In addition to this, Aaron’s son, Jabu John, who recently was reported missing by the Herald and then found 15 days later, took his father’s murder extremely bad and suffered severe emotional trauma.

After Jabu John was found in March this year, he, according to family member, Dumisani Nkosi “Lost his mind.”

The funerals took place on Saturday, 23 and Sunday, 24 April where Sarah and Thobile Nkosi was buried in Mohlakeng.

The other members were buried in Thokoza and Walkerville. The family would like to thank everybody for their support during this difficult time.
