Woman, 39, arrested for drug dealing

Police went on a tip-off and recovered two large bags of dagga.

A 39-year-old woman was arrested for dealing in dagga after police found two large bags of dagga in her shack in the Bekkersdal area.

According to Sargent Linkie Lefakane, Bekkersdal Police spokesperson the woman was arrested on Saturday, 23 April.

Lefakane said police found the woman after Detective Constable Mapoloba along with Detective Constable Modise received a tip-off the day before at around 1.45pm about a woman dealing in dagga at the Tambo informal settlement.

The pair clamped down on the location and found two large plastic bags of dagga in the suspect’s shack.

“The lady was arrested immediately and she will be charged with dealing in dagga. She already appeared before the Westonaria Magistrates’ Court last week,” Lefakane said.

Colonel Nkhwashu applauded the officers involved in bringing the suspect to book.
