Woman stabbed and robbed at train station

Police: Suspects fled with the victims’ bags which contained money, torches and ID cards.

A 28-year-old woman and her colleague recently were the victims of a violent robbery at Robinson railway station, Randfontein Police said.

Police now calls on the help of the community to assist them with information regarding the incident that took place at around 2.40am on Sunday, 10 April.

According to Captain Appel Ernst, Randfontein Police spokesperson, “It is alleged the woman and her colleague were on duty when three unknown men arrived at the station.

“The men allegedly enquired about the train schedule and when told that there are no trains at that time, two of the men pushed the gate open to gain entrance.

“One of the suspects then produced a knife and stabbed the victim in the arm. The suspects fled with the victims’ bags which contained money, torches and ID cards.”
