Taxi driver loses control, six injured

Taxi driver: The tyres of the vehicle burst.

Six people were injured after a taxi driver lost control, crashing off the R500 in Carletonville on Saturday afternoon.

According to Russel Meiring, ER24 spokesperson, “ER24 paramedics along with another service arrived on scene and found the taxi off to the side of the road. Occupants from the vehicle were found seated on the grass embankment.

“On assessment, paramedics found that six patients had been injured in the collision. Fortunately the injuries sustained were only minor.

“Paramedics treated the patients and thereafter transported them to a nearby hospital for further treatment.”

The taxi driver later told paramedics the tyres of his vehicle apparently burst, causing the vehicle to crash off the road.

Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
