Spokesperson: A light tremor caused the fall of ground accident.

A miner died in a fall of ground accident early on Monday morning at Harmony’s Kusasalethu mine in Carletonville.

Henrika Ninham, Harmony’s Kusasalethu mine spokesperson said the miner died after a light tremor caused the fall of ground accident.

Ninham described the tragedy as very unfortunate and sad. The identification of the miner could not be released at this stage.

Investigations into the accident are underway and management has stopped mining activities on the level where the accident occurred,” Ninham said.

Harmony’s management team wish to express their deepest condolences to the members of the deceased’s family.
