Man wakes up to find burglar inside his home

Police: The 38-year-old man awoke after hearing noise coming from inside the house.

A man told local police that he was woken up by the sounds of intruders inside his Greenhills home in Sydney Carter Street during the early hours of Friday, 25 March.

Captain Appel Ernst, Randfontein Police spokesperson confirmed at around 4.50am, the 38-year-old man awoke after hearing noise coming from inside the house. He then decided to investigate and noticed two suspects busy ransacking the house.

One of the intruders was in the process of removing the man’s television through a broken window. The man was then spotted and they suddenly chased after him.

He then ran into a room for his own safety where the suspects decided to flee the scene. They took laptops and a tablet from the house.”

The investigating officer, warrant officer Santie le Roux-Laufs would appreciate any information regarding the suspects or the stolen items. Her contact number is 011 278 8100.
