Theatre for charity

Lend a helping hand to the RPA's newest member.

Bethany House Trust, a new Randfontein Publicity Association (RPA) member, is calling on the community to enjoy an evening of theater while contributing to charity.

Bethany House Trust was established in 1998 and deals with shelter for young people as well as primary health care and education.

Their first project for 2016 has been one of the biggest ones yet. They booked out the entire Barnyard Theater in Cresta Mall in a bid to raise over R50 000 for extensions of the Bethany House Children’s Home. The home is located on Potgieter Street, Krugersdorp.

The home currently houses 60 children ranging from newborns to matriculants. They would like to double that number to 120. They would also like to add a halfway house for school leavers. For the latter, they have already began collecting funds since 2015.

The production is a musical called Bonfire Hearts and is a tribute to the greatest songwriters of all time.

• Date: 17 April
