Randfontein Police appeal for help to find an epileptic man who has been missing from Toekomsrus for a year.
Erik ‘Palera’ Abrahams, a resident of Toekomsrus went missing on 12 February 2015. The family said they last saw him when he was on his way to work but he never came home.
Abrahams suffers from epilepsy and has seizures regularly. He walks with a limp because he is lame on his right side and has a scar on his head. Erik also suffers a speech impediment.
Ruben van der Merwe, Erik’s brother in law told the Herald in a previous interview that he is well-known in Toekomsrus and residents would usually take him home when he is lost.
A body was found by the police on 17 February last year and the family was worried that it was their dear Erik but fortunately after going to see the body, it was confirmed that it was not Erik.
Police are urging residents to come forward if they have seen him. If anyone has any information on the whereabouts of Erik, they can contact Elaine van der Merwe, Erik’s sister on 081 578 9313 or her husband Ruben on 085 643 5560.
