A 36-year-old woman sustained serious injuries after a light motor vehicle rear-ended a truck on the N12 between Fochville and Potchefstroom late last week.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found a large truck lying on its side in the emergency lane of the highway.
“The rear of the light motor vehicle had been crushed by the back of the truck.
Paramedics assessed all the occupants and found that only the female passenger from the truck had been injured.
“Paramedics treated the patient and thereafter transported her to Potchefstroom Hospital for further treatment,” said Russel Meiring, ER24 spokesperson.
The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
