Woman repeatedly stabbed by family member

The suspect was arrested and detained after the incident.

A 22-year-old woman was repeatedly stabbed in the neck by one of her family members.

According to Captain Appel Ernst, spokesperson for the Randfontein police, the incident occurred on Sunday (28 February) at approximately 12:30pm.

It is alleged that the victim was at a house in Mohlakeng when she was attacked from behind,” Ernst said.

The woman was allegedly stabbed in the neck and tried to escape but the suspect followed her, repeatedly stabbing her in the neck.

“A 41-year-old male suspect was arrested shortly after the incident and was detained at the Randfontein police station,” She said.

The man appeared in the Randfontein Magistrates’ Court on 2 March.
