Die Bosveldklong charm’s R’fonteins women

Thys Die Bosveldklong and Monique West had Randfontein in stitches and singing along to their performances.

In their song TNT, AC/DC sang, ‘Lock up your daughter lock up your wife’ and Thys die Bosveldklong embodied these lyrics during his Randfontein performance at Bedrock Pub and Grill in Aureus over the weekend.

Thys Streicher, the man behind the persona was armed with his guitar, cowboy hat and voice to charm Randfontein’s women and make Randfontein’s men cry with laughter.

He performed in town on Friday, 11 March alongside Monique West, an upcoming Randfontein singer. In true bosveld style, the venue was lit up and kept warm by log fires to give fans the full experience of Die Bosveldklong’s music.

Die Bosveldklong’s performance yielded more jokes and stolen glances of women than singing and fans could not keep the tears from rolling down their faces.

It wasn’t long before the audience became the butt of his jokes which also was met with great applause.

A few of his songs went on longer than what they should when a beautiful woman made an entrance and he couldn’t help but play the same note while stealing a glance. Some songs were stopped to speak to women passing by and others were wholly dedicated and rewritten to fit their description.

Die Bosveldklong also showed Randfontein his soft side when he played a few of his slow songs which residents could embrace and sing along to. Fans were also entertained by his country music skills and almost instantly he became Thys die Cowboyklong.

The rest of the night was dedicated to sokkie-ing and new-blood Monique West giving Randfontein a taste of the upcoming generation of singers that are to be watched.
