UPDATE: Cooking oil factory on fire!

General Manager: The fire erupted on the roof of an old refinery.

It has been confirmed that old oil in the pipes caused the fire which erupted at Wilmar Continental Company in Robinson on Monday.

It is believed all staff, contract and permanent employees, were evacuated from the building. The local Fire Department was quick to respond.

“The fire erupted on the roof of an old refinery. We were busy removing old, unused equipment from the building when old oil in the pipes caused a fire.

Luckily there were no injuries and no damage to our equipment.

“The fire also did not interfere with our production,” said Leon Niemand, general manager at Wilmar Continental.
