Shoeless man wanted. Have you seen him?

Randfontein's shoeless man is urgently wanted by the Herald.

The Herald is urgently looking for Randfontein’s shoeless and homeless man, Ettienne Koch.

After being robbed of his shoes while sleeping, Ettienne showed up at the Herald‘s offices with makeshift shoes made from the blanket under which he sleeps.

“Usually when I sleep, I put my shoes next to me, but when I woke up, they were gone and the bag I travel with was laying open,” he said.

In an article published by the Herald, it was requested that kind-hearted residents donate shoes and clothes to Ettienne. Since then, several residents and even staff members of the Herald got together clothes and shoes for him.

Unfortunately Ettienne has no cellphone or means to be contacted. The Herald is looking for Ettienne to hand over the shoes and clothes gathered by the community.

Roxy de Villiers, Herald journalist, drove up and down the streets of Randfontein in search of Ettienne but he has not been seen since a few visits to the Herald to hear if any clothing had been collected.

In an interview with the Herald, he said he often is in Greenhills as he sleeps there.

Should any one spot Ettienne, they should ask him to come to the Herald‘s offices to collect the clothing.
