Man, 62, dies in hospital after being hit by car

Police: The driver of a vehicle allegedly lost control.

An elderly man, 62, has died in hospital after he was struck by a car in Mohlakeng.

According to Captain Appel Ernst, Randfontein Police spokesperson at around 4.40pm on Sunday 31 January the elderly man and his sister were allegedly on the corner of Hlazana and Botse Street, Mohlakeng when the driver of a vehicle allegedly lost control and hit the man on the side of the road.

He was transported to a local hospital to receive treatment for the injuries he sustained in the incident,” Ernst said.

Ernst added the family later reported that the man tragically passed away in hospital due to his injuries.
