Cooking oil factory on fire!

Fire erupts at cooking oil manufacturer.

Staff at the Wilmar Continental Company in Robinson had to be evacuated after a fire erupted on Monday afternoon.

According to a security officer who works at the reception and wishes to remain anonymous, the fire started before 2pm. She explained to the Herald she heard no explosion and only saw flames.

It is believed all staff were evacuated from the building. No injuries were reported. The officer immediately contacted the Fire Department where they quickly responded. 

The staff that was evacuated was contract and permanent employees. The security officer added that one of the oil tanks were burning and that the fire was potent when it first erupted. 

The General Manager of Wilmar Continental was not immediately available for comment. The exact cause of the fire is unknown at this stage.
