Residents help EPR fight crime, three arrested

'This just proves that when a community works together, they can make a big difference.'

A joint effort by the community and EPR Security led to the arrest of three suspected robbers recently.

Johan Krogh, EPR General Manager explained to the Herald on Thursday 25 February a domestic worker notified them after she saw three suspects jumping over a wall in Da Gama Street in Culemborgpark.

“A neighbour, 19, also saw the suspects and managed to take some photos of them on her cellphone. When EPR arrived on the scene, a very good description of the suspects was available to them.

EPR then immediately transmitted the information to a reaction unit that was in the vicinity.

“The officers then noticed the suspects after the description of their clothing matched the information they received.

“All three suspects were followed and arrested, and taken back to the property where the domestic worker and neighbour then identified them. The suspects were then handed over to local police.

“This just proves that when a community works together, they can make a big difference where crime is a concern,” Krogh said.
