Light at the end of the tunnel for disadvantaged matrics

Manhindra Randfontein together with the Krugersdorp Rotary Club give disadvantaged matriculants solar lamps.

The Randfontein Mahindra branch together with the Krugersdorp Rotary Club gave Fochville matriculants necessities to help them study throughout their matric year for the final exams.

The Rotary-Mahindra School Light Project gave each of Imfundo Secondary School’s matriculants solar and battery operated lamps as well as pencil cases to help them study at night even though some of them do not have electricity at home.

The solar lamps were handed over to the school’s principal, ML Cqasana at Mahindra in Randfontein on Monday, 22 February.

Mahindra initiated the project with Rotary South Africa as part of their social responsibility programmes to light up the lives of less fortunate matriculants who still have a chance to change their own lives through education.

This is to ensure that matric students from disadvantaged communities study hard day and night to achieve great results and become the future leaders of our country,” Christine Cauchon, Past President of the Rotary Anns Krugersdorp.

This is Mahindra’s way to give back to the community and make a difference.
