Ward 6 voters, are you ready?

Find out where you should vote this coming local election.

Municipal election registrations are around the corner and political parties as well as the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) are calling on those who are eligible to vote.

Eddie Krog, an aspiring DA candidate held an information desk on Saturday (13 February) at the Greenhills Circle to create voting awareness.

Krog and his team took to the parking lot to find out whether residents were registered to vote, to take down the names of those who have not been registered, yet and to make sure people know where to vote.

Krog also used the IEC phone application to view your voter registration details. The application can be found on www.elections.org.za. It tells you whether you are registered, and which voting station you need to use.

If I have to roughly estimate how many people we reached in the circle, I would say about more than 50 residents,” Krog said.

The voter registration information desk was for residents of Ward 6 which includes a sections of Homalake and Greenhills. Krog said residents of the area can either vote at the Greenhills Stadium at the tennis courts or at Laerskool Randfontein (Ram).

The Randfontein Show will be on during the voter registration weekend which is why the registration venue changed from the main building at the stadium to the tennis courts.
